The Mission “Sip”

People have been asking me how the mission trip to Kenya was. It’s only my first full day back in the US, and already I’ve been bombarded with texts and calls about how it went.

I can’t say the trip was “good,” because of the living conditions of the people there. The poverty and struggle for daily life there is not “good,” so that kind of answer won’t suffice.

I can’t say that it was “bad,” because God did some incredible things not only in our team, but also in the lives of those we interacted with in Kenya as well.

One thing I can share is what popped into my head mid-week in Kenya – this is only training for what should be happening all over the world. I jokingly called it the mission “sip” because everyone gets just a taste of the kind of service and worship we should all take part in when we return home.

Day in and day out we should serve God with whatever gifts we have been given to the glory of His name. This is just a small taste of what happened in Kenya over the past ten days.

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
- 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

Kenya

…is just a tiny part of what went on in Kenya with our team.
